The sworn complaints detailing seven issues with Jones’ campaign finance reports were filed with Texas Ethics Commission in March.
Jones responded Tuesday, “As a firm believer in ethics and compliance, this matter is being carefully evaluated. As such, any potentially valid campaign finance issues will be appropriately addressed and if necessary, corrections and/or amendments will follow. In addition, the campaign will secure a new treasurer with an accounting background to ensure compliance and transparency.
For the past 30 years, I have been a dedicated community servant leader in Fort Bend County, without any issues. Nothing has changed, as I remain committed to serving the residents of Precinct Four. I believe my record of ethics, qualifications, demonstrated leadership and community centered platform speaks for itself. We have an important primary runoff election this May, and while some may use distracting political tactics, I remain focused and committed to earning every vote because Fort Bend residents deserve better.”
The complaints maintain Jones:
- Made political expenditures without a campaign treasurer appointment in effect
– Allegedly violated Sections 252.001 and 253.031, which require a candidate to have a campaign treasurer on file before accepting or spending political funds.
- Failed to file the 30-day pre-election report
– Did not submit the report due February 2, 2026, as required under Section 254.064(b).
- Filed reports without the required sworn declaration or affidavit
– Her semiannual report (due January 15) and 8-day pre-election report allegedly did not include the required verification under Section 254.036(h).
- Provided an incorrect reporting period
– The semiannual report reportedly listed an improper beginning date for the reporting period, in violation of Section 254.063(c).
- Omitted required campaign treasurer information
– Failed to include the treasurer’s name, residence or business street address, and telephone number, as required by Section 254.061(2).
- Failed to properly identify the election in a report
– The 8-day pre-election report allegedly did not include the identity and date of the election, as required by Section 254.061(1).

Jones is the Mission Glen HOA president, MUD Board President, and former FBCDP Treasurer, and is in a five person race for Precinct 4 Commissioner. She’ll face either Nicole Miller or Brittanye Morris in the May runoff. The winner of that race goes on to face the winner of the Republican runoff, Ken Mathews or Adam Schoof.
